Welcome to the
HEATHER
ABOUNADER GALLERY
eather (Moreton) Abounader has had a long time love of horses and of art. She "rediscovered" the model horse hobby in 1997 after unpacking her childhood Breyer Collection. It was all too natural for her to find a way to put all of this together, and she has done so in her model horse tack making. Heather specializes in finely detailed halters, bridles, and breastcollars, using the name Desert Night Creations.
Her tack is carefully and uniquely designed, often including
working buckles and real gold and sterling silver beads and findings.
She constantly strives to keep her work as realistic as possible,
while also developing new skills, such as complex Braiding techniques.
In 2001 she was honored to be asked to donate a halter to
the North American Model Horse Show Association's auction in Lexington
Kentucky, held in conjunction with Breyerfest. In addition, her
work is owned by several artists including, Jennifer Reid, Debbi
LerMond and Kate Schick.
Heather lives in Louisville, Kentucky. She is a Network Engineer by trade. She hopes to someday own her own horse, and have some acreage to keep it on.
She uses Rio Rondo buckles and bits.
You can email Heather or browse her website here or join her YahooGroup.

This is the halter that was sold along with a Custom ISH
By Michele Belisle Locke at the 2001 NAMHSA auction. Heather felt
very honored that she was asked to donate. The beads are sterling
silver. Hardware is from Rio rondo. Buckles are tongued working
buckles.
