Three Fuego Headstudies
Carmella
Palomino Lusitano mare customized from the Brigette Ebrel Esperanza resin by Tom Bainbridge. Created 2010. Tom describes this piece: Her color is a deep and delicious dappled palomino --- a color I haven't done in a long time and I was just giddy with excitement with how she turned out. There is so much detail in her, it must be seen to be appreciated. Layers of realistic dappling and depth to her rich, metallic sheen. Her mane/tail are shaded with light smoke and cream, not a solid stark white. Carmella's eyes are a lovely amber shade, which mirror's her golden hair. A very "clear coated" Palomino, no sootiness to her at all ... just glorious, shimmery, golden palomino with subtle layered dappling.
Rosario
Mulberry dapple grey Lusitano mare customized from the Brigette Ebrel Esplindida resin by Tom Bainbridge. Created 2010. Tom describes this piece: I added sculptural detail to her, like lip wrinkles, neck rippling, skin rippling/folding in her brisket and between the front legs, tendon detailing, pastern/fetlock reshaping, and too much more to mention. She is so regal with her "upright" personality and look! To say she was a challenge to paint is an understatement. First she was gonna be a bay, then I thought "nah, chestnut" and then I finally decided she really wanted to be a grey of some sort. As I painted her alot of her chestnut color was shining thru so the idea to make her a mulberry grey popped into my mind and I couldn't be more pleased with her unique color, just like her look and character is unique. Layers of various size and shape dappling abound, most you cannot see in the photos - camera only picked up the more pronounced ones. Various depth and tones of chestnut coloring and soft, subtle fleabitting finish the picture. Her mane/tail still are of nearly solid chestnut coloring, framing her body with deep tones. She even has chubari spots for accuracy and interest.
