Welcome to the
SHERRY
McDONALD GALLERY
herry McDonald
was a customizer active in the 1970's and helped to forge the
way for customizers. Back when Sherry was doing models, the now
common mohair and less desirable craft fur was very hard to come
by (Ramie was not even available until the past five years or
so!) so artists had to be resourceful if they wanted to make a
hair mane and tail for their models. Sherry was known for using
real horse and human hair for her models and she even rooted the
hair on many models! As you will see, the affect is not always
the best, but at the time it was state of the art!
Elizabeth Bouras generously provided the photos shown in this
small gallery, but I'm always looking for more.
