EMCO INDUSTRIES

The following information about REMCO Industries Inc., of Harrison, N.J., USA who produced three sets in 1969 was written and researched by Lynn Ann McBride-Hess. Thanks, Lynn!

The Palomino Western Horse: Kit #5191-403C.
This was a 6 piece tan plastic molded cantering/rearing horse model that came with white hair mane and tail. I never was able to purchase or find kit. It came with the brown rubber/plastic saddle and bridle, with rifle and holder, plus saddlebags. The base put the horse in a cantering position, just like the knight kit. Only saw it one time and at that time I wanted the circus horse over the western horse and could only afford one.

The Knight Horse: Kit #5191-403A
This was a snap together 6 piece black plastic molded cantering/rearing horse model that came with white hair mane and tail. Brown rubber/plastic saddle with attachable girth and hind harness, rubber/plastic bridle complete with plumes, a Two (2) piece bit, a helmet for the horses forehead, included were all the light blue and dark blue cloth harness trappings, and a knights shield and sword with saddle holder (hilt). The sword even came out of the holder. Once put the kit together the model stood in a stand that the peg on its left hind leg went into. I painted over the black plastic and have since replaced the old white mane and tail with mohair. Shown as "Midnight Magic Lady" set in cantering position. Photo provided by Lynn Ann McBride-Hess.

The Liberty Circus Horse: Kit #5191-403B
This was a snap together 6 piece white plastic molded cantering/rearing horse model that came with white hair mane and tail. Brown rubber/plastic harness with silver plastic buckles, 2 piece bit and plume holders, red with yellow trim cloth trappings, also the 3 plumes in red, yellow and white. This model when done stood up in rearing position on a round base that looked like a circus step up base you would use for animals to jump up on and show off. The base even had very colorful designed stickers. Pictured on the left is "Miss Star Dust" below set in cantering position.
