Welcome to the
CAROL RIEGER GALLERY

empty emptyarol Rieger has been in the hobby for about 14 years and started with the Breyer Traditional Sham, which looked a lot like an Arabian horse that Carol owned at that time. As she began to get involved in the hobby, she met Marney Walerius, who showed her an Arabian costume. She was impressed but decided she could try to make a better one, and that's when she started making costumes. Then she tried customizing models, and with each attempt, her models got better and better. Carol credits Chris Jolly and Laurel Steinert as being the most influential in her customizing, one being a truly gifted sculpter, the other, an exceptional air-brush painter.

Carol has been married for 20 years, and has 3 children--Marie 19, Jenny 17 and Ian 7! She spends most of her time working in the family business, with her family and church. When she gets time, Carol also does portraits and other flat-art paintings.

One of the reasons Carol so enjoys the hobby is because she's loved horses since she was about 3 years old, and models gives her a way to express her admiration for these beautiful animals. Carol has loved art since she was a child--with customizing, she can blend her two favorite things together in a way she never thought possible!
