hanna Bobbitt, of Froghollow Studio, started painting horses in high school, although she can remember sketching horses from early childhood (one of those sketches was published in Western Horseman). Those early customs were not exactly show quality, and it wasn't until Shana discovered Blab (forum), and a Secret Santa giftee inspired her to pick up the artist tools again in 2009.
Shana creates with pastels (using pure pigments), with finish-work done in acrylics and colored pencil. She specializes in portrait horses and feels most comfortable working from photographs of the "real thing."
Shana has been photo showing since grade school, judging model photo shows since high school, and started judging live shows in 2013.
Her family has always owned a couple of horses, and she has an Arabian gelding that she's ridden in AERC endurance limited distance rides. Shana's home life is centered around her wonderful husband and two fun kids, and a 3rd-generation Boston terrier of my own breeding.
