A short history on the generations of Stablemate molds.

Through the years, Breyer has released "generations" of Stablemate molds. Some collectors refer to these as "G1," "G2," and "G3" to differentiate them (as some breeds/types have been "re-released" in subsequent generations.


The first generation, G1, are the original pieces released. Many are plastic copies of the Maureen Love Hagen Renaker miniatures. These include: Arabian Mare, Arabian Stallion, Standing Drafter, Standing Foal, Lying Foal, (Action) Saddlebred, Morgan Mare, Morgan Stallion, Quarter Horse Mare, Quarter Horse Stallion, Citation, Thoroughbred Mare, Native Dancer, Seabiscuit, Silky Sullivan, Swaps,

emptyThe second gernation, G2, consist of those pieces released in 1998. Sculpted by Kathleen Moody.

Shown at left, as the JAH 1998 Special Run set, they include (from left to right, top to bottom):

Pirhouetting warmblood, Paso Fino, Rearing Arabian, Andalusian, Running Thoroughbred, Shetland Pony, Cantering Clydesdale, Mule, Standing Saddlebred, Prancing Morgan, Walking Stock Horse and Pacing Standardbred.

In 2006, new stablemate molds, the third generation or G3, were released. These include: Trotting Arabian, Pracing Belgian, Cantering Foal, Head Up foal, Lying Foal (G3), Scrambling Foal, Scratching Foal, Trotting Foal, Peruvian Paso, Tennessee Walking Horse, Highland Pony, Running Mustang, Kicking Andalusian, Stock Horse, Freisen, Jumper, Standing Thoroughbred, Cantering Warmblood.

In 2010, in honor of the World Equestrian Games, a number of news molds, G4, were released showing the various disciplines of the WEG. These include: Endurance Arabina, Vaulting Drafter, Reining Horse, Dressage Horse (extended trot), Driving Horse, Para Dressage Horse
