From the beginning of her career, the sport horse industry has been Beverly Zimmer's target. Her sculpture has been chosen above others to portray these athletic horses due to her understanding of their work. Yet, these powerful forms have the most sensitive feeling about them. Beverly believes that these soulful expressions in her work come from years of seeing horses in training, play, breeding, birthing, and death. Furthermore, the artist's sensitivity in sculpting has been her signature in the equine art market.
In 1995, Beverly's business expanded into jewelry designing and exclusive bronze commissions. In 1996, she was commissioned by the Atlanta Olympic Committee to do stoneware clay sculptures to be given as gifts to the equestrian competitors. At this time, juggling a full load of commissions, art shows, and competitions was beginning to take its toll on the artist. The lure of Wellington's active equestrian community was enough for Beverly to bid farewell to her stone walls in Pennsylvania.
The move to Wellington heightened Beverly's inspiration for her sculpture. By working closely with Van Dell Jewelers, she has been kept very busy with various jewelry and trophy sculpture commissions. In addition, Beverly was also commissioned to do a bronze of the Quarter Horse stallion, Rugged Lark, which will be marketed through Van Dell Jewelers. Furthermore, the move also brought peace to the artist by putting her in touch with friends and co-workers.
Since Beverly's days in art school, she has always been interested in life-size sculpture. Back then, she engineered mechanical life-size equine skeletal sculptures that enclosed humans who operated them. To this day, the artist has not abandoned her ideas and desires in the performance art field. Although Beverly does not take her talent for granted, she admits that the jewelry, stoneware, and bronze sculpture do not challenge her intellect as much as she'd like. Yet, a business savvy coupled with an artist's temperament is an unusual combination. It is this combination, accompanied by a relentless drive and expertise, which will enable Beverly to succeed.
