im E. Swanson of KES STUDIO entered this hobby in 2000. She had never even seen or heard of custom model horses, but stumbled upon them one day on ebay as she just got her first computer and decided to look up Breyer horses that she collected as a child. That was it, her passion for horses and art made it possible for her to combine the two and jumped right in. Self taught right from the beginning, from resculpting horses, to using an airbrush and all that custom painting includes was a real challenge for her.
Always striving to learn and refine her art, she constantly reads and tries many techniques and her horses have gotten better and better over the years.
Her custom and resculpted horses have won many ribbons for their owners and a number of her models belong to collectors all over the world.She is now working on her first sculpture and is aiming for a conformationally correct horse, which will best represent that particular breed to it's highest standards.
