ARABIANS COSTUMES (TRADITIONAL SCALE)

empty Desert modern Bedouin style costume in black and burgundy
Custom order for and owned by Mailyn Jensen. This costume was completed in Winter of 2003 and was NAN 2004 Champion CM arabian costume (see picture of win on main gallery page). This costume was inspired by the photos of the black and colorful arabian costumes in the Arabian Horse magazines and was one of the first truly authentic type costumes Jennifer made. This is one of the artist's personal favorites.

empty Modern Bedouin style costume in slate blue and rust
Custom order for and owned by Vicky Norris. This costume was originally quite a challenge as it was meant to go with an ara-appaloosa, thus the monochromatic scheme.  I (Jen) really endjoyed putting this costume together, it was one of those that sort of "made itself". This costume is multi NAN Qualified and was the NAN 2004 OF arabian costume champion.

Hand embroidered modern Bedouin style arabian native costume. This costume was custom ordered by Vick Bartlow and also features wired tassels for future use on her Khemosabi model. This costume was finished just in time for NAN and was a NAN 2004 OF arabian costume Top Ten in it's debut show.

This is one of the first cream colored costumes in the modern Bedouin style Jen made. It was a slow pick up finding the appropriate references for an authentic costume in this color, but after some trial and error runs, this costume has picked up many NAN Qualifications and was a NAN 2004 OF Top Ten Costume. This costume was custom made for and is owned by Rachel Stacey.

This is an "oldie but goodie" costume. It was finished in January of 2003 as a custom order for Kerry Schultz. This costume was quite a bugger to complete, but was worth it with nearly 10 NAN Qualifiactions under its belt. This costume was purchased by Vicky Bartlow in time for NAN 2004 and it took a Top Ten for her in the OF Arabian Costume Division. I know it looks forward to many more NAN Q's in the future!

This is a costume that was a custom order for Jeanette Ammon. It was built specifically for the OF Stone Arab Ra. I think with the different number of tassle rows on the blanket and chestpiece, it will offer a very nice contrast to the rest of the costumes seen it the showring.

This is another one of those costume that just came together on its own. It was a pleasure to build, and just couldn't wait to be completed! I think with the proper documentation it will be very successful in the show ring in the upcoming show years.

This was a fun costume to make. I had been dying to to use this color scheme for a long time and finally has a customer requesting it! The tassel layers on this costume are just stunning in person. The bridle was specially made for a small resin head. This was a custom order for Jenny Miller.

This is one of my favorite showring styled costumes. It was custom ordered by Sheila Anderson. It had been so long since I made a showring style costume when this one was created that it was a blast to make! There are simply too many little details here and there all over it to catch in just one look.

This is another favorite for showring style costumes. The blend of mattes and metallics throughout are amazing! The layers of tassels here are simply spectacular and have helped the costume NAN Qualify. This costume was a custom order for Robin Kilbury.

emptyAuthentic Show style costume in black, burgundy, olive, and orange
Created 2007. Jennifer describes this costume: This costume has all the great details I am so well known for and that has earned my costumes so many NAN cards show after show, year after year. This one features beautiful fine tassels on a lovely black, olive and burgundy blanket. The saddle is painstakingly handsculpted and embroidered at the seams and the seat. The blanket and chestpiece are lined in soft leather for a smooth touch on your cherished models. The girth is made of white elastic for the best and easiest possible fit for on your model. The girth has working buckles and billet design as well as invisible easy quick tack velcro tabs. The chestpiece has a removable girth connector strap so it can be used separately with the halter as a presentation set. The halter and bridle are two separate pieces as is correct. The hand braided halter and chestpiece are adorned with magnificent (and back breaking!) cowrie shells and beads, just like the real thing, and in perfect scale. The nose chain and chin chain are ultra fine silver, much finer that what you will see on most costumes. The reins, leadline, throatlatch and saddle ropes are constructed with an intricate 4 strand rope braid for the utmost in accuracy. The saddle ropes attach properly to two rings sewn into the back of the saddle, and the chestpiece also attaches correctly to two rings at the front of the saddle with teeny tiny ropes.
