Armstrong's
Affairah
Grulla tovero Anglo-Arab/Pinto mare customized from
the Breyer Classic Kelso
To me, Kelso is one the the most elegant, beautiful models around,
so when I customized this former gelding, I didn't change much
in her position except her right hind so that she's trotting better.
I also resculpted her muzzle, which was a lot of fun and gave
her more personality. I've always been attracted to unusual looking
colors and grulla was a fun challenge to recreate on a model.
Affairah's pattern is a mixture of two types--overo and tobiano--which
is why her pattern may seem unusual.
Armstrong's Affairah & Armstrong's Sassy Savior Faire
Grulla tovero Anglo-Arapinto mare customized from
the Breyer Classic Kelso and her daughter, a grulla overo Arapinto
filly customized from the Breyer Classic Arabian Foal and owned
by Sarah Minkiewicz
I love mare/foal photos! Taking this one as well the one accompanying
Sassy's photo, was a lot of fun, especially because these two
look so neat together! Here the brat is leading the way!
Armstrong's EZ Motion
Chestnut Thoroughbred stallion customized from the
Breyer Stablemate Seabiscuit
When I began customizing, I thought chestnut was the most boring
of colors, but it didn't take long to realize that this color
can be as radiant and lustrous as other colors--it's all in the
number of colors used to shade the model. EZ Motion was my attempt
to see if I could do a "plain ol' chestnut" Stablemate,
but without the "plain ol'"!
Name unknown
Appaloosa Sport horse stallion, customized and painted blood bay by Bonnie Robb; Janet Piercy added Appaloosa markings.
