Running a Live Show

The showholder's main responsibility of running a show is hospitality, being a good host(ess); making the show run smoothly is the aim.

Show logistics

Things to do to help the the show to run smoothly include:

• Show hall setup
• Raffle, auction setup
• Collect and organize class/championship results
• Sell raffle tickets
• Promote raffle, auction
• Public announcements of classes, results, sponsors, donors, vendors, charity information
• Auctioneer auction lots
• Handle registration changes, updates (if applicable)

Class Announcements

Classes usually have about four times they are announced

• First call for class
• "One minute" warning
• Close of class
• Class placed, clear

If filling two tables in one division, when one class is closed, the first call for the next class can be made, hopefully so that when the first class is placed and ready for clearing, the other class is ready for closing.
