Setting a Live Show Date

There are a number of factors to be considered when setting your show's date.

First, the proximity of scheduled show dates to other shows and events. Most showers prefer not to attend shows less than two weeks apart. In addition there may be a major model horse show event (located across the country) that may reduce the attendance of showers and availability of judges.

Secondly, the calendar may have an impact: holidays, which many folks reserve for family time, and the seasonal weather, which affects travel regionally and locally. In addition, a theme may be set based on a holiday or event. The majority of shows seem to occur in the spring and summer.

Thirdly, the venue's availability.
